    Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, Learning, and Adapting (MERLA) Officer

    Project Summary

    The Fashion Future Program (FFP), implemented by Ethnocentrique, is a skills and local economic development initiative aimed at equipping young fashion enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, particularly women, with the resources and opportunities needed to excel in the competitive garment, footwear, and leatherwork segments of the Nigerian fashion industry. Through apprenticeship training, mentorship, cluster development, and advocacy, FFP aims to enhance local production and drive sustainable development within local communities.

    Position Overview

    As the MERL Officer, you will work closely with the MERL Lead to implement comprehensive frameworks for monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning within Ethnocentrique's Fashion Future Program initiatives. Your responsibilities will include data collection and analysis, impact evaluation, fostering collaboration across program units, and extracting key learnings. You will provide actionable insights to drive growth, improve program sustainability, and inform strategic decision-making.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in designing and implementing MERL frameworks, tools, and systems.
    • Support data collection, analysis, and interpretation to inform program decisions.
    • Collaborate on evaluation and research studies to assess program effectiveness.
    • Contribute to documenting best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.
    • Engage with stakeholders to share findings, gather feedback, and promote MERL activities.
    • Assist in preparing reports, dashboards, and other documentation.
    • Support MERL Lead in building capacity of team members, staff, and partners.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or research related fields.
    • 2+ years of experience in MERL, program evaluation, or research.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R), and project management software.
    • Knowledge of MERL principles, frameworks, and best practices.
    • Experience with survey design, data collection, and statistical analysis.
