Medical Officers at St. Ives Specialist Hospital

Responsibilities:

• Conducting medical examinations and assessments of patients.
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood tests, X-rays, and MRIs.
• Prescribing medications and other treatments as necessary.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Providing counseling and education to patients about their health conditions and treatment options.
• Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as needed.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records.
• Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care and treatment strategies.
• Adhering to all relevant medical laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS )and must be registered with the NMA and Medical Guild Council.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Medical officer
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Good interpersonal skills, and must have a good rapport with people.
• Have the ability to communicate at all levels.
• Proactive approach and capable of working on own initiative.
• Ability and flexibility to deal with pressure and deadlines.
• Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based medicine.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate medical records.
• Willingness to stay updated on developments in the field of medicine through continuing education and professional development activities.
