Mechanical Technician - Okpella at Dangote

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the hands-on maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant mechanical equipment and systems. This role ensures operational reliability and safety by executing work orders, troubleshooting issues, and supporting plant operations as needed.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, conveyors, kilns).
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve mechanical faults promptly.
• Document maintenance activities and report issues to supervisors.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Participate in plant shutdowns, overhauls, and emergency repairs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or sectional heads.

Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Trade Test, National Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical Technology or related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a cement or heavy industry environment.
