    Mechanical Engineer - Project - Engineering - Office Purpose - Water Treatment Plant

    Responsibilities
    Engineering & Design:

    • Prepare and review design calculations for rotary and packaged equipment such as:
      • Pumps (Raw Water, River Water, HRSCC Feed, Chemical Transfer, Backwash, Sludge)
      • Blowers, compressors (if applicable)
      • Chemical dosing and unloading packages
      • Skid-mounted packages (UF, RO auxiliaries, chlorination, dosing systems)
    • Review of vendor drawings & documents:
      • Mechanical datasheets
      • GA drawings, P&IDs, layouts
      • Equipment sizing and selection calculations
    • Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and applicable standards (API, ASTM, ASME, ISO, MSS).

    Vendor Engineering & TBE:

    • Prepare RFQs and technical specifications for rotary and packaged equipment.
    • Carry out Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) and vendor comparison for various packages.
    • Review and approve vendor drawings, documents, and datasheets.
    • Coordinate with vendors for technical clarifications, deviations, and optimizations.
    • Review painting specifications, materials of construction, noise limits, and inspection/ testing requirements.

    Interdisciplinary Coordination:

    • Coordinate with Process, Civil, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams for:
      • Equipment layout and accessibility
      • Power requirements and motor selection
      • Instrumentation and control philosophy
    • Support preparation of load lists, I/O lists, and equipment interfaces.

    Inspection & Quality:

    • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans (ITP).
    • Participate in or review:
      • Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT)
      • Performance and noise tests
      • Dimensional inspections
    • Review NCRs and corrective actions from vendors.

    Knowledge of Codes & Standards:

    • ASTM, ASME, API, ISO, EN
    • Hydraulic Institute (HI)
    • MSS SP standards
    • Painting & corrosion protection standards

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.​
    • Experience: 8-10 years’ experience in project engineering.
