    Mechanical Engineer / Auto Technician & Driver

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer / Auto Technician who is capable of diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motorcycles, buses, and pickup trucks. The ideal candidate must have strong mechanical knowledge, practical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to drive vehicles when required for testing, transport, or operational needs.

    The candidate must be reliable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while ensuring that all vehicles and machines are kept in excellent working condition.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Vehicle Inspection and Diagnosis
      • Inspect motorcycles, buses, and pickup trucks to identify mechanical or electrical faults.
      • Use diagnostic tools and mechanical testing equipment to determine the cause of breakdowns.
      • Carry out preventive maintenance inspections regularly.
      • Identify worn or damaged parts that require repair or replacement.
    • Repairs and Maintenance
      • Repair and maintain motorcycles.
      • Repair and service buses such as Ford buses.
      • Repair and service pickup trucks such as Toyota Tacoma.
      • Repair engines, gearboxes, braking systems, steering systems, suspension, and cooling systems.
      • Replace faulty components including clutches, alternators, starters, fuel pumps, and filters.
      • Perform oil changes, lubrication, and engine tune-ups.
    • Electrical and Electronic Repairs
      • Diagnose and repair electrical faults in vehicles.
      • Repair wiring systems, lighting systems, batteries, alternators, and starters.
      • Test and repair vehicle sensors and control systems where applicable.
    • Preventive Maintenance
      • Implement scheduled maintenance programs.
      • Maintain proper servicing intervals for engines, transmission, and braking systems.
      • Keep vehicles in optimal working condition to avoid breakdowns.
    • Vehicle Operation / Driving
      • Drive motorcycles, buses, and pickup trucks when required.
      • Test-drive vehicles after repairs to ensure proper functionality.
      • Transport vehicles for servicing, delivery, or operational purposes.
      • Ensure safe driving practices and compliance with road safety regulations.
    • Workshop Management
      • Maintain a clean and organized workshop.
      • Ensure proper handling and storage of tools and spare parts.
      • Maintain an inventory of spare parts and mechanical tools.
      • Recommend procurement of parts and equipment when needed.
    • Record Keeping
      • Maintain records of repairs and maintenance activities.
      • Document vehicle service schedules and parts replacement.
      • Report major mechanical issues to management.
    • Safety and Compliance
      • Follow all mechanical and safety standards.
      • Ensure vehicles meet road safety and operational standards.
      • Use protective equipment when performing repairs.

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
    • Good knowledge of motorcycle, bus, and pickup truck engines.
    • Ability to repair diesel and petrol engines.
    • Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems.
    • Ability to use mechanical tools and diagnostic equipment.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Good driving skills and knowledge of road safety.

    Qualifications

    • Diploma, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Technology.
    • Valid driver’s license (motorcycle and vehicle).
    • Minimum 3–5 years experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.

    Additional Requirements

    • Ability to repair both motorcycles and heavy/light vehicles.
    • Physically fit and able to handle mechanical work.
    • Honest, reliable, and hardworking.
    • Ability to work in rural or field environments if necessary.

    Preferred Experience

    Experience working with:

    • Motorcycles
    • Ford buses
    • Toyota Tacoma pickup trucks
