    Material Code Creator - Mechanical

    Job Summary 

    • This position involves creating and maintaining material codes, collaborating with various departments, and supporting project objectives through effective material management.​

    Key Responsibilities
    Material Code Development:

    • Generate unique and descriptive codes for mechanical components and materials, ensuring consistency.
    • Maintain an organized database of material codes for easy retrieval and reference.​

    Collaboration with Engineering and Procurement:

    • Work closely with design and project engineers to understand material specifications and requirements.​
    • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure accurate material descriptions for sourcing and purchasing.​

    Data Integrity and Standardization:

    • Ensure all material codes align with company and industry standards, facilitating uniformity across projects.​
    • Regularly audit material data for accuracy and completeness.​

    Support for Project Activities:

    • Assist project teams by providing accurate material information, aiding in planning and execution.​
    • Participate in project meetings to offer insights on material availability and specifications.​

    Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to enhance material coding processes and implement best practices.​
    • Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in material management.​

    Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.​
    • Experience: 6 - 8 years experience in project engineering, material management, or a similar role within mechanical engineering projects.​

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in engineering design and understanding of mechanical components.​
    • Experience with Bill of Materials (BOM) management and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.​

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.​
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.​
    • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to project changes.​
