Job Description

• The Operations Manager directs and coordinates activities of the Warehouse, Logistics, Sales and Technical Services and aids the Managing Director in formulating and administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.
• He is responsible for the deliverables in warehousing, technical & support services, logistics and Sales.

OBJECTIVES:

• Effectively manages the company’s supply chain system and ensures a most efficient products and services delivery system. The company’s supply chain entails –
• Identifying inventories at reorder levels, inventory turnover rates, non-selling inventories, etc. and ensuring least disruptive replenishments.
• Ensures seamless coordination between all units to ensure that valid customers’ orders for goods and services are speedily and accurately delivered on schedule
• Provide services delivery analyses to the managing director to guide service delivery directions.
• Promotes an internal system that guarantees very satisfying experiences for customers by ensuring that all –
• Human and material resources are optimally deployed
• Relieves the managing director of all routine and non-routine tasks associated with operations that distract him from his strategic and visionary responsibilities.
• Promotes and ensures international best practices across all operations activities.
• Attend to and effectively resolve all complaints, difficulties, bottlenecks, setbacks, conflicts and any manner of operations problems emanating from departments and branches which the respective heads were unable to satisfactorily resolve.
• Drives and manages performance excellence in all operations activities by ensuring that –
• All departments and units whose duties underscore the anticipated performance excellence are unrelenting.
• Performance targets on operations are set for all departments and branches.
• Performances are monitored and evaluated against actuals/targets.
• Provide effective and operational supports for the smooth functioning of all departments.
• Setting up metrics for measuring and reviewing operations performances and submitting weekly operations performance report to the managing director.
• Champions implementation of corporate visions and drives the strategic expansions in the areas of –
• Expanding and ensuring the availability of products and services in high demands.
• Tactical discontinuation and sell-off of products that have bottomed-out in demand.
• Optimal deployment and efficient utilisation of human and material resources across operations.
• Monitors and ensures effective communication and information flow within the lateral and vertical control spans.
• Instil discipline in all the operations and units under is span of control.
• Supervises and issues job descriptions to subordinates whose jobs are not explicitly described in the personnel policy; delegates duties accordingly and submits the supplementary job descriptions to the head of human resources for retention while retaining final responsibility for the quality of job done.
• Appraises, queries, and makes recommendations about subordinates to head of human resources, managing director and (where applicable) head internal controls.
• Carry out any other job as may be assigned.
