    Logistics/Fleet Officer

    Key Responsibilities:

    Transportation & Fleet Management:

    • Oversee the dispatch, routing, and tracking of petroleum product transportation.
    • Ensure all trucks meet company standards for safety, maintenance, and branding.
    • Conduct regular truck inspections, audits, and performance analysis.
    • Develop contingency plans for breakdowns and operational disruptions.
    • Monitor and enforce driver compliance with PPE, uniforms, and safety protocols.

    Depot & Product Allocation Management:

    • Coordinate product loading, receipt, and dispatch at depots.
    • Ensure efficient allocation of petroleum products from the depot to company stations and customers.
    • Maintain relationships with depot managers, tanker representatives, and stakeholders.
    • Verify and approve waybills, Stock Transfer Notes (STN), and Delivery Notes (DB).
    • Report product receipts and dispatches in line with company policies.

    Logistics Planning & Optimization:

    • Plan cost-effective and efficient delivery routes.
    • Optimize truck utilization and fuel distribution.
    • Monitor and track fleet performance, availability, and turnaround times.
    • Address operational concerns promptly and report critical issues to management.

    Compliance & Risk Management:

    • Enforce safety and security measures in transportation and delivery.
    • Ensure trucks have valid calibration and regulatory approvals.
    • Monitor risk management procedures and report any discrepancies.
    • Prevent product variances and unauthorized supplies to customers.

    Reporting & Operational Support:

    • Prepare analytical reports on fleet performance, route efficiency, and delivery accuracy.
    • Track logistics trends and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement.
    • Ensure timely renewal of insurance, tracking devices, and other operational requirements.
    • Train and assign schedules to logistics employees as needed.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in respective areas of study.
    • 3-5 years’ experience in downstream oil and gas sector preferably in logistics, supply chain management or transportation of petroleum products.
    • Extensive knowledge of logistics and supply chain management in downstream oil and gas.
    • Willingness to travel.
    • Effective planning and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage and motivate employees.
    • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
    • Complete understanding of the company’s products and services.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Good time-management skills and excellent leadership skills.
    • Great interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
