Location: Ikota, Lagos, Nigeria

We are looking to hire a Legal Officer who will be responsible for leading the legal, compliance, and governance functions of the organization, supporting the businesses and enabling the implementation of strategy to achieve organization’s goals. This individual will provide excellent service and ensure the company operates within an optimal compliance framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all legal matters across the organization, including contract negotiation, litigation, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
• Provide legal advisory support to executive leadership and all internal departments.
• Draft, review, and oversee real estate and financial agreements, ensuring full compliance with relevant laws and industry standards.
• Monitor changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment, proactively advising management on risk mitigation.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, regulatory engagements, and contract negotiations.
• Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory agencies as required.
• Develop and implement internal legal policies and compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB), Barrister at Law (Nigerian Law School).
• 4-5 years’ proven work experience in a related position post call to bar
• Board and secretarial experience is an added advantage
• Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• In-depth knowledge of Nigerian corporate law, real estate law, contract law, and financial compliance.
• Proven ability to manage legal risk and support cross-functional business teams.
• A strategic thinker with strong ethical standards and business acumen.

Salary - #200,000.00 - #250,000.00 could be more for candidates with Board/secretarial experience
