    Legal and Compliance Officer I

    Job Summary:

    The Legal and Compliance Officer 1 will support the company\'s legal and regulatory functions, ensuring compliance with industry standards, corporate policies, and legal requirements. The role includes legal documentation management, compliance oversight, regulatory monitoring, and assisting in audits and training programs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in drafting, reviewing, and managing contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
    • Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate compliance requirements.
    • Conduct legal research and provide recommendations on industry regulations.
    • Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
    • Monitor and track corporate governance and regulatory certifications.
    • Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
    • Organize and facilitate compliance training sessions for employees.
    • Prepare reports on legal compliance activities and regulatory matters.
    • Maintain and update legal databases and records.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Legal and Compliance Advisor.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor\'s Degree in Law (LL.B and B.L) from an accredited University in Nigeria and the Nigerian Laws School, respectively.
    • 2-3 years of relevant experience in legal and compliance roles, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
    • Strong understanding of contract administration and regulatory compliance.
    • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
    • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and pay attention to detail.
    • High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.

    Preferred Candidate:

    • Male candidate preferred.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
