    Lead, Retail Automation

    Job Summary

    • As the Lead, Retail Automation, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing retail automation strategies across our downstream oil and gas operations. Your primary objective will be to ensure full-scale digital transformation of retail outlets to improve efficiency, compliance, reporting accuracy, and customer experience.
    • You will be responsible for deploying automation solutions that encompass fuel dispensing, POS integration, inventory control, station monitoring systems, and backend ERP systems. The role requires experience in retail automation within the oil and gas sector and a strategic mindset to drive operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Retail Automation Strategy Development:

    • Design and implement a comprehensive automation strategy for retail operations.
    • Drive system integration across pumps, POS, ERP, and mobile platforms.
    • Lead pilot programs and phased deployment across stations.

    Technology Deployment & Project Management:

    • Oversee the full implementation lifecycle of retail automation systems including hardware, software, and communication tools.
    • Evaluate vendors and supervise installation, testing, and go-live of systems.
    • Coordinate with engineering and IT teams for deployment planning.

    Operational Efficiency & Compliance:

    • Improve data integrity, transaction transparency, and reconciliation accuracy.
    • Ensure all stations meet regulatory requirements and standards on automation.
    • Integrate real-time monitoring tools for fuel levels, temperature, dispenser activity, etc.

    Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management:

    • Train station managers and key staff on new automation systems.
    • Work with management to identify KPIs and performance indicators.
    • Collaborate with Finance, Engineering, Sales, and IT teams.

    Support & Maintenance:

    • Develop support and maintenance protocols for deployed systems.
    • Track issues and manage system escalations and vendor SLAs.

    Continuous Improvement & Reporting:

    • Identify opportunities for process automation, digitization, and optimization.
    • Generate periodic reports on automation performance, usage, and ROI.

    Requirements

    • Proven experience in retail automation in downstream oil and gas
    • 3 - 5 years of experience in similar role(s)
    • Strong project management and vendor oversight capability
    • In-depth understanding of automation hardware/software
    • Strategic thinking and ability to drive cross-functional alignment
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Leadership mastery; can lead high impact teams.
    • Knowledge of ERP and POS integration (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics)
