Lead Instrumentation and Control Technician - Umungasi, at Oilserv Limited

Responsible for overseeing control systems, automation, and instrumentation to ensure stable, safe, and optimized plant operations. The role ensures the reliability and accuracy of measurement and control systems, enabling efficient process control, operational visibility, and performance optimization.

Job Details

• Maintain and optimize PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems; ensure accuracy, calibration, and reliability of instrumentation; manage control logic, alarms, and interlocks; troubleshoot control system faults and instrumentation failures; develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs; support commissioning, startup, and shutdown activities; ensure proper documentation of control systems; drive process optimization and automation improvements; participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure safe operation of control systems and instrumentation; enforce compliance with HSE and functional safety standards; support implementation of safety instrumented systems (SIS); ensure proper alarm management and safeguarding; participate in incident investigations and risk assessments

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Control Engineering, or related discipline; relevant certifications in automation or control systems are an added advantage
• Minimum of 6–10 years’ experience in automation and control systems within oil and gas or similar industrial facilities, including hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, and DCS platforms
