Laboratory Scientist at Westcare Specialist Hospital

Job Summary:

• We are seeking a meticulous Medical Laboratory Scientist to drive accurate high-volume testing, and uphold ISO 15189 quality standards in our busy facility.

Responsibilities:

• Receive, process, and analyze specimens across Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular diagnostics.
• Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
• Validate and release results within specified time frame.
• Champion internal QC/QA, participate in external proficiency schemes, and prepare documentation for audits.

Requirements:

• A BMLS license.
• 2 or more years experience in a medical laboratory.
• Proven competence with automated analysers and middleware.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety and compliance.
