Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our dynamic team.
• In this role, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and timely laboratory results to support patient diagnosis and treatment.
• You will be responsible for performing a wide range of laboratory tests, analyzing results, and ensuring quality control standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, log, and process patient specimens according to established procedures.
• Perform a variety of laboratory tests, including hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology.
• Analyze test results and interpret findings, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
• Monitor and maintain quality control procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment, troubleshooting any issues that arise.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all laboratory activities, including patient results and quality control data.
• Adhere to strict laboratory safety protocols and regulations.
• Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other laboratory staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
• Registration with the relevant professional body (e.g., Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria).
• Strong understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures.
• Proficiency in laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Experience in a diagnostic laboratory setting.
• Certification in specialized laboratory areas (e.g., cytology, histopathology).
• Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control principles.
