    Knowledge Management Expert (Consultant)

    Duration: One year renewal

    The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Nigeria Country Office, under the Inclusive Green Financing Initiative (IGREENFIN1) Regional Support Programme, is seeking a highly qualified Knowledge Management Expert to support knowledge exchange and dissemination at both national and regional levels.
    This role will be hosted within the National Agency for the Great Green Wall (NAGGW) in Abuja, with a focus on strengthening institutional collaboration, enhancing knowledge-sharing, and driving innovation in climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work proactively with programme and Green Climate Fund (GCF) /Global Environment Facility (GEF)/Adaptation Fund (AF) project teams at national level to identify opportunities for capturing and sharing relevant knowledge and disseminating information about major progress and results.
    • Support GCF Accredited Entities (AEs) and GEF/AF EEs in uploading their knowledge products, reviewing the knowledge products submitted to the regional platform/knowledge center, and promoting the center’s use at national level.
    • Generate knowledge products to disseminate lessons learned, scalable good practices. 
    • Organize regular peer-based knowledge exchanges and knowledge sharing activities and coordinate the communities of practice at national levels. 
    • Enhance coordination & programming among GCF National Designated Authorities (NDAs), AEs and GEF, AF, and Great Green Wall (GGW) national focal points and other representatives of GGW national coalitions (Ministries, Technical and financials’ partners….)
    • Advise the Regional Coordinating Unit (RCU) of the Regional Support Programme (RSP) on relevant branding and publications policy/products and assist in their dissemination.
    • Support consultants working at national level in the stocktaking of innovation and opportunities for climate and land innovation in the GGW and with the GEF IFAD RSP
    • Develop and maintain contacts in close relations with GGW national director with key print and electronic media (including radio, TV, news websites and blogs) to supply them with newsworthy material about the GGW in the country.
    • Prepare National Factsheet/Case Studies to promote national projects results and activities.
    • Ensure that the GGW project web page is updated and linked to the GGW institutional websites.
    • Develop and maintain a GGW events calendar with GGW national agencies at national level ensuring that they are identified at early stage and supports senior management and relevant programme teams to develop and manage messages and information material to ensure the success of major events.
    • Develop and maintain contacts with key print and electronic media (including radio, TV, news websites and blogs) to supply them with newsworthy material about the GGW work in the country.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • A university degree in relevant discipline for the assignment (project management, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), economics, rural development, climate finance, etc.) with sound knowledge of information sharing and M&E issues in project management and issues facing rural economies of developing countries.
    • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in knowledge management, communications, or M&E, preferably within international development organizations.
    • Proven expertise in climate change, natural resources management, or environmental sustainability programmes.
    • Strong skills in knowledge documentation, data visualization, digital platforms, and multi-stakeholder engagement.
    • Excellent written and working knowledge of French is an added advantage.
