    Investment Associate, Power

    Job Summary

    • AFC Capital Partners is the Asset Management subsidiary of AFC. The Investment Associate, Power at AFC Capital Partners will support the origination, execution, and management of power and infrastructure investments across
    • Africa. The role involves working on renewable energy, transmission, and storage projects, handling all investment stages—from screening to deal execution and portfolio management—while collaborating closely with AFC teams.
    • Strong knowledge of climate-resilient infrastructure, sustainable finance, and stakeholder engagement is essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify and develop investment opportunities in climate-resilient power and infrastructure across Africa, driving origination efforts.
    • Assist in client coverage and key account management with a focus on green finance and climate-focused investments.
    • Develop and deliver investment pitches, proposals, and presentations that incorporate climate risk assessments and ESG considerations.
    • Structure, negotiate, and execute investments in climate-resilient infrastructure projects using equity and equity-linked instruments.
    • Track and assess the climate resilience of portfolio assets, identifying potential risks and adaptation needs.
    • Support institutional building by working closely with various teams within AFC to execute the co-investment strategy.

    Education

    • Possess a strong track record of academic achievement at the Masters level from a leading university in finance or related discipline.
    • Relevant advanced degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, Infrastructure Investments, or other analytical related fields such as engineering, etc.
    • Relevant professional qualifications/certifications related to finance such as CFA will be advantageous.

    Experience

    • 4 to 8 years professional experience in infrastructure investments and private equity; previous experience in the
    • Power sector will be an added advantage
    • Proficient in transaction modelling and understanding of transaction structures; solid understanding of
    • Concession agreements, PPA, EPC, O&M contracts.
    • Excellent client origination and management skills.
