Internal Auditor at NEM Insurance PLC

Job Summary:

To ensure effective internal control systems are in place to safeguard company assets, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies. The role involves conducting audits, risk assessments, and process reviews to strengthen the organization’s control environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular audits and control reviews across departments, branches, and business processes to assess compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Identify control gaps, process weaknesses, or risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and follow up on unresolved issues.
• Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
• Conduct investigations of suspected fraudulent activities and provide reports to management.
• Review and test internal controls related to financial reporting, underwriting, claims, and policy administration.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ICAN/ACCA certification is required.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in internal control or audit
• Solid knowledge of insurance operations, regulatory requirements (e.g., NAICOM), and risk management principles.
