Instrumentation Engineer at Padua Petroleum Nigeria Limited (PPNL)

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Duties and Responsibilies

• Troubleshooting faulty equipment and instruments to know the best solution or adjustment to make
• Carrying out preventive / corrective maintenance on field instruments.
• Installation and calibration of field instruments such as pressure, level, flow and temperature transmitters, switches and relays
• Servicing/repair of Valves such as SDV, ESDV, BDV, (ROV) and control valve.
• Installation and stroking of Valves.
• Servicing of Air Booster pump and pneumatic distributor control panel
• Carrying out instrument integrity test on gas export line
• Carrying out (SIT) Safety Inspection Test on F&G system such as: Gas Detectors, Flame Detectors, Smoke Detectors, Heat Detectors, Manual Alarm Call Point, ESD push buttons etc.
• Preparation of permit to work.
• Participate in tool box talks and regular safety meetings.
• Carry out emergency role as defined by emergency response plan
• Comply with safe work practices and procedures and participate to ensure a safe working environment.
• Execute schedule and unschedule maintenance task in accordance with job periodical plans.
• Carrying out routine work and integrity test on field instruments.
• Installation and calibration of field instruments.
• Monitoring instrument performance on PLC and DCS during operation.
• Maintain work history and input to the maintenance management system.
• Provide full support to the operational department during shutdown and start-up of process plant.
• Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on field Instruments as scheduled by maintenance management team.
• Carry out remedial routine maintenance on field Instruments, PLC, DCS, transducers and HVAC systems in oil and gas processing plant.
• Ensure safe and efficient maintenance operations on field Instruments at all time.
• Provide updated and technical information on all maintained equipment in the plan
• Inhibiting F&G instrument on TRICONEX, AUTOCHIM F&G panel during SIT exercise and monitoring inhibited F&G Tag on DCS during SIT exercise
• Installation and Maintenance of Vibration Monitoring systems and speed sensors in Turbines, Compressors, Fire Water pumps, EDG etc.
• Carrying out routine work and integrity test on hydraulic return header, SCSSV header, SSV header, main header, well head pressure and annulus pressure on well head (Xmas Tree)
• Carrying out preventive / corrective maintenance on well head control panels and Servicing of pneumatic and hydraulic pump on well head control panel, Calibration of choke valve on well head.
• Preparation of permit to work, maintenance schedules and daily/monthly report on equipment under instrumentation department using computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Technical knowledge on control system and controllers.
• Checking of instruments Thresholds on DCS and PLC and clearing of invalidities and discrepancies on field instruments.
• Proficient in system troubleshooting and live equipment performance monitoring and data recording.
• Participate in tool box talks and regular safety meetings.
• Carry out emergency role as defined by emergency response plan.
• Comply with safe work practices and procedures and participate to ensure a safe working environment.
• Installation and calibration of field instruments.
• Monitoring instrument performance on PLC and DCS during operation.
• Maintain work history and input to the maintenance management system.
• Provide full support to the operational department during shutdown and start-up of process plant.
• Carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance on field Instruments as scheduled by maintenance management team.
• Writing findings on instrumentation tests and analysis for evaluation purposes.
• Training other discipline engineers onnew equipment or how to implement new techniques.

Education / Work / Skills Requirements

• Must have HND/B.Sc in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years experience as an Instrumentation Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Must be a able to efectively use Instrumentation Software, Solid Works, Auto Cad etc
