    House Manager

    Our client, a Guests House located in Apo area of Abuja requires for immediate employment, the service of an experienced and competent Guests' House Manager.

    Role Summary:

    Manage The Guest House’s Operations, Coordinate Personnel Teams To Obtain Customer Satisfaction, And Promote The Guest House.

    Scope:

    • As An Experienced Manager, You Will Oversee The Daily Operations Of The Guest House, As Well As Plan And Take Steps To Promote The Business To Potential And Existing Guests. This Includes Planning And Supervising The Activities Of A Diverse Workforce To Ensure The Smooth And Profitable Running Of The Business.
    • You Will Be Involved In All Aspects Of The Guest House’s Operations And Will Be Just As Responsible For Dealing With Complaints As For Preparing Reports. You Will Also Be A Key Person Of Reference For Employees And Guests, As Well As External Vendors.
    • You Will Guide The Employees To Work As A Well-Functioning Team And, Therefore, You Will Be A Team Player And An Effective Leader -
    • Able To Set Examples And Foster A Climate Of Cooperation.
    • Your Mission Is To Enhance Customer Dedication And Expand The Guest House’s Customer-Base By Strengthening Its Reputation.

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervise Work At All Levels (Receptionists, Kitchen Staff, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Etc.) And Set Clear Objectives.
    • Plan Activities And Allocate Responsibilities To Achieve The Most Efficient Operating Model.
    • Manage Budgets/Expenses, Analyze And Interpret Financial Information And Monitor Sales And Profits.
    • Develop And Implement An Intuitive And Efficient Marketing Strategy To Promote The Hotel’s Services.
    • Communicate With Customers When Appropriate (Welcome Them In The Facilities, Address Their Complaints, Find Solutions To Problems, Offer Information, Etc.).
    • Deal With Maintenance Issues, Shortages In Staff Or Equipment, Renovations, Etc. Collaborate With External Parties Such As Suppliers, Travel Agencies, Event/Conference Planners, Etc.
    • Inspect Facilities Regularly And Enforce Strict Compliance With Health And Safety Standards.
    • Understanding The Needs Of The Different Customer Types And Providing Differential Treatment.
    • Creating A Relationship Based On Availability And Personalisation Between Guests And The Guest House Team To Ensure Customer Satisfaction.
    • Creating Unexpected Magical Moments For The Guests.
    • Encouraging Guest Feedback, Following Up And Analyzing Their Comments.
    • Implementing Corrective Action With Regard To Guest Comments (E.G. Training).
    • Keeping The Guest House And Meals Up To Standard (Hygiene, Comfort, Providing What We Promised The Guest). Permanently Ensuring Application Of The Resort Action Plan.
    • Creating And Maintaining Permanent Relations With Local Industry (E.G. Other Accommodation Establishments, Opinion Makers, Security Organisations).
    • Being The Sales Contact Of The Guest House. -
    • Taking Responsibility For The Creation, Stimulation Of Sales And Local Sales Of The Guest House.

    Profile Requirements And Skills:

    • Proven Experience As A Hotel Or Guest House Manager Or Relevant Role.
    • Fluency In English; Knowledge Of Other Languages Is A Plus.
    • Understanding Of Hospitality Management Best Practices And Relevant Laws And Guidelines.
    • Working Knowledge Of MS Office; Knowledge Of Reservations Management Software (PMS) Is An Advantage.
    • Excellent Customer Service Skills As Well As A Business Mindset.
    • Sales Acumen / Persuasive.
    • Competent Team Manager.
    • Well Organised And Methodical.
    • Good At Networking Internally And Externally.
    • Demonstrable Aptitude In Decision-Making And Problem-Solving.
    • Reliable With An Ability To Multi-Task And Work Well Under Pressure.
    • Outstanding Leadership Skills And A Great Attention To Detail.
    • Diploma In Hospitality Management Or Degree In Business Administration.
    • Experience In A Hospitality Management Role.
