    Home Economics Teacher

    Location: Ejigbo, Lagos

    Job Overview

    Our client is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Home Economics Teacher to join our school as a Home Economics Teacher. The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching, a strong background in Home Economics, and the ability to deliver high-quality education to students.
     

    Job Duties/Responsibilities

    • Develop and deliver engaging and interactive lessons in Home Economics based on the curriculum.
    • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement, curiosity, and independent thinking.
    • Design and implement appropriate assessments to evaluate student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, resources, and technologies to enhance student learning and cater to different learning styles.
    • Support and guide students in developing practical skills related to cooking, nutrition, food safety, and general home management.
    • Promote the importance of healthy eating habits, personal hygiene, and sustainable practices through practical demonstrations and discussions.
    • Encourage students to develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in relation to food choices, budgeting, and resource management.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular connections and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant information.
    • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents or guardians regarding students\' progress, achievements, and areas for improvement.
    • Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with current educational practices, resources, and methodologies.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor\'s Degree,  in Home Economics, Nutrition, or a related field (a teaching qualification is desirable).
    • Previous teaching experience, preferably in a school setting.
    • Familiarity with the curriculum and assessment practices.
    • Strong knowledge and expertise in Home Economics concepts, including cooking techniques, nutrition, food safety, and home management.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues effectively.
    • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes active learning and student participation.
    • Demonstrated ability to integrate technology into teaching practices.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Commitment to professional growth and continuous learning.
    • Must reside within Ejigbo & Environs.

    Salary
    N80,000.00 - N100,000.00 / month.
