Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered heavy equipment and vehicles, such as self-loaders and swamp buggies.
• This role requires a strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, air brakes, and electrical components.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical problems in heavy-duty diesel engines.
• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and brake servicing.
• Conduct engine overhauls, transmission repairs, and other major repairs.
• Maintain and repair hydraulic, suspension, and air brake systems.
• Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members regarding vehicle status and repair timelines.
• Ability to forecast preventive and prompt corrective maintenance should be an added advantage

Qualifications

• SSCE, BSc, Technical, or trade test preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic of heavy-duty vehicles/equipment.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) will be an added advantage
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and braking systems.
• Proficient with diagnostic software and tools.
• Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
