Job Description
Regius Capital Asset Management Limited is part of a diverse Group with business offerings covering financial services, agribusiness and healthcare, and revenues exceeding N27 billion in 2021, including two entities rated investment grade by Agusto & Co. In furtherance of its long-term strategy, the Group is in the process of an establishing Africa-focused asset management business. It therefore seeks to engage an experienced and highly capable Head of Sales & Business Development.
The objective would be to build assets under management as well as develop a world-class sales team and product suite, positioning the business for consistent annual growth and ultimately, industry leadership.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Build a high-quality team (covering the retail, HNI, institutional and public sector segments) which will deliver services to various classes of clients.
Develop a high-quality strategy (in terms of customer acquisition and segmentation, product development, client retention and market communication) by which RCAM will chart its success in a competitive market.
Work with portfolio management and other teams to design product rollout over a five-year period, to enable the Company to capture market share in various areas- private portfolios, institutional portfolios, mutual funds, specialized funds, etc.
Work with other teams within the Group (technology, compliance, operations and finance) to develop an optimal digital strategy and technology platform for digital engagement with retail and HNI Clients;
Take responsibility for meeting set performance budgets, in terms of growth of assets under management as well as number of customers acquired;
Develop (or lead the development of) process and execution manuals to facilitate excellent standards in client service;
In conjunction with the Corporate Communications team, develop a marketing communications strategy that enables the Company to rapidly gain public visibility and market share in each customer segment;
Develop partnerships with external partners to facilitate growth, including co-operatives, other asset managers, fintechs, commercial banks, pension funds, microfinance banks, etc.
Provide guidance, supervision and mentorship to junior team members to ensure a friendly, high-performance culture, a can-do spirit and an atmosphere of continuous learning.
Requirements
Skills/Attributes:
Strong experience in asset management in Nigeria and possibly other African countries.
Excellent knowledge of the Nigerian financial markets (money markets, equities, fixed income and other investment outlets).
Excellent presentation, communication (written and oral) and relationship management skills.
Outgoing personality with the ability to develop lasting relationships in various areas.
Outstanding leadership and mentoring skills.
Background Requirements:
Degree in finance and/or management, such Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or Law. However, a non-business related degree may be substituted with substantial experience.
Ten (10) years cognate experience in financial services (particularly sales, business development or product development), with a minimum of 4 years of team leadership is expected.
Ability to demonstrate strong investor relationships (institutional and individual).
