    Head of Engineering

    Description

    • We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Head of Engineering to lead Engineering operations, oversee technical projects, and ensure optimal performance of equipment, systems, and Engineering teams.
    • The role is responsible for driving operational efficiency, safety, cost control, and continuous improvement while aligning Engineering activities with business objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead, plan, and manage all Engineering and maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
    • Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs
    • Oversee installation, commissioning, and maintenance of plant machinery, utilities, and infrastructure
    • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and statutory requirements
    • Lead, mentor, and develop Engineering and maintenance teams
    • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to timelines and quality standards
    • Build a strong safety culture and ensure toolbox talks and training are conducted regularly
    • Manage Engineering projects from concept to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and vendor coordination.
    • Review technical designs, drawings, and specifications
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards
    • Prepare and manage Engineering budgets and control maintenance costs
    • Drive cost optimization through efficient resource utilization and process improvements
    • Manage spare parts inventory and vendor contracts
    • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reliability, and energy efficiency.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline)
    • Minimum of 8+ years’ experience in Engineering/maintenance roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity
    • Strong knowledge of maintenance systems, utilities, and industrial equipment.

    Skills / Competencies:

    • Strong leadership and people management skills
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
    • Solid understanding of safety, quality, and compliance standards
    • Budgeting, cost control, and vendor management skills
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
