Head of Accounts at Michael Stevens Consulting

Job Objectives

To provide effective support to the Managing Director/CEO by overseeing the core Accounting and financial aspects of the organization and ensure support for the corporate strategy and the attainment of all round financial goals.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

•  Manage all accounting transactions
•  Prepare budget forecasts 
•  Publish financial statements in time 
•  Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings 
•  Reconcile accounts payable and receivable 
• Ensure timely bank payments 
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns  
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements 
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity 
• Audit financial transactions and documents 
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary 
• Comply with financial policies and regulations  

Competencies / Qualifications / Experience:

•  Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's College Degree in Accountancy 
•  Must be from a top University 
•  Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Accounting 
•  Good English communication skills, both written and verbal 
•  Hands-on experience with accounting software -
•  Advanced MS Excel skills 
•  Experience with general ledger functions 
•  Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills  
•  Additional certification (CFA or ACCA) is an added advantage
