    General Manager (Sports-Betting/Lottery)

    Job Purpose:

    The General Manager will be responsible for overseeing the strategic and overall operation of the company. He/she must be business driven with the ability to deliver at strategic and operational levels. The GM will provide leadership and balance for the stability and growth of the lotto business, he/she is required to have excellent business and communications skills ensuring the business maintains corporate standards, policies, and procedures for both federal & state laws, the lottery commission regulations, and the organization’s approved operational standards as stipulated by the lotteries board.

    Key Accountabilities:

    • Responsible for the overall strategic direction and operational management of the lotto – from business strategy to the daily operations include but is not limited to draws, field and studio operations, customer service management, financials etc.
    • Review of all company policies and procedures, ensuring they are in line with best practice, compliance with the provisions of the state, and national regulations of Nigeria
    • Responsible for assessing, evaluating, coordinating, and overseeing the operations of the lottery business
    • Coordinate the activities of presenters, ushers, and bouncers to ensure that in-house audience are well organised and properly monitored
    • Serve as a point of contact for the lotto franchise partners and stakeholders
    • Ensure the right results are published on all the company’s lotto social media platforms
    • Ensure the implementation of corporate goals and objectives for the operations team; and ensure the team adheres to company standards of conducting business, while goals and production quotas are obtained
    • Support and consult with relevant departments to ensure the smooth running of the business and its operations
    • Elaboration of all formats of marketing strategies for the lottery business to thrive
    • Create annual and periodic budgets, monitor, and review actual costs versus budgeted costs
    • Develop strategies for increasing profitability and decreasing processing times.
    • Review compliance issues ensuring safety of all lotto equipment (lotto balls, lotto ball scale, lotto machine, lotto mobile phones, lotto security seals, etc.)
    • Consultation with all vendors associated with lottery and sports betting
    •  Adhere to all company policies and procedures inclusive of following communication procedures, securing proprietary documents and expense report
    • Inventory management and constructing logistics-enhancing solutions for the business
    • Identifying and attending local events to increase brand awareness and community support
    • Collaborate with HR and management in recruitment activities for the business when necessary
    •  Ensure compliance reports are adequately prepared, reviewed and communicated timely with a focus on communicating findings, recommendations, responses, actions taken, implementations and deficient conditions
    • Detect problems that could affect the business through quality control checks

    Required Qualifications / Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree /HND or its equivalent in a business related or social science course
    • Minimum of 7 years experience 
    •  A leader of people and resources
    • Relevant and related experience as a Lotto General/ Operations Manager in the gaming industry would be an advantage
    • Analytical skills with strong attention to details
    • Good Knowledge of preparing business reports
    • Experience and ability to create a strategic direction for the business
    • Good knowledge of operational requirements and procedures
    • Strong negotiation and leadership skills
    • Competency in Microsoft Office suites (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
    • Must be able to critically think through issues and determine the best course of action, considering impacts internally and externally
    • There is a need for flexibility and adaptability
    • Ability to manage a diverse team
    • Good creative and innovative perspective
    • Ability to analyze potential dangers to the business and risk assessment
    • Strong professional judgment
