• A gateman controls access to a property, ensuring only authorized personnel and vehicles enter or exit.
• Key duties include monitoring entry and exit points, checking identification, maintaining security logs, operating gates and barriers, conducting patrols, and responding to security concerns like theft or alarms.
• The role requires vigilance, good communication, and the ability to enforce rules to maintain safety and order.

Key Responsibilities

• Access Control: Monitor and regulate the entry and exit of vehicles, pedestrians, and goods.
• Security Checks: Verify credentials, issue passes, and check for prohibited items.
• Record Keeping: Log the arrival and departure of visitors, vehicles, and materials.
• Security Monitoring: Patrol the premises, ensure security systems like cameras and alarms are functional, and respond to any security incidents.
• Property Protection: Prevent unauthorized removal of company property and enforce security regulations.
• Communication: Liaise with superiors, law enforcement, and visitors to report issues and provide directions.
• Maintenance: May perform minor maintenance, such as keeping the gate area clean or checking locks.
