Frontend Lead at Tobams Group

• We are looking for an experienced Frontend Lead to drive the development of high-quality, scalable, and user-focused web applications.
• The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership skills, mentoring engineers while ensuring the delivery of exceptional frontend experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the frontend development team and oversee day-to-day technical execution.
• Architect and develop scalable, maintainable, and high-performance frontend applications.
• Define and enforce frontend development standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver new features.
• Review code, provide constructive feedback, and maintain high code quality standards.
• Mentor and support frontend developers through technical guidance and career development.
• Drive technical decision-making, including framework selection and application architecture.
• Optimize applications for speed, accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Identify and resolve technical risks and bottlenecks throughout the development lifecycle.
• Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and delivery tracking.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
• 2+ years of experience leading or mentoring frontend teams.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Extensive experience with React and modern frontend frameworks such as Next.js.
• Solid understanding of state management solutions (Redux, Zustand, Context API, etc.).
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and working closely with backend teams.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design principles, and modern UI development practices.
• Experience with frontend testing tools and methodologies (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, etc.).
• Familiarity with CI/CD processes, version control systems (Git), and deployment workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on development with technical leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
• Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building and maintaining design systems or reusable component libraries.
• Knowledge of performance optimization techniques for large-scale applications.
• Experience working in agile development environments.
• Experience with React Native or other cross-platform technologies.
