Overview

We are seeking a talented and creative freelance writer with a strong passion for the education sector to work on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate should have experience writing non-fictional books, articles, or materials that explore values, principles, and practical strategies to benefit educators and students. The role involves creating content that inspires, educates, and empowers readers, with a focus on improving educational outcomes and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

Content Creation:

• Research, outline, and write high-quality, non-fictional manuscripts, articles, or materials tailored to the education sector.
• Develop compelling narratives that highlight values and principles relevant to educators, students, and school leaders.
• Translate complex educational concepts into engaging, accessible content.

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the commissioning organisation to understand project goals and align content with the desired themes and target audience.
• Incorporate feedback and revisions to ensure the content meets high standards of quality and relevance.

Research and Analysis:

• Conduct in-depth research on topics related to education, including values, ethics, and best practices for teaching and learning.
• Use credible sources and data to support arguments and ideas presented in the writing.

Project Management:

• Meet agreed deadlines for drafts and final submissions while maintaining high attention to detail.
• Manage multiple writing assignments if required and deliver consistent quality across projects.

Requirements

• Proven experience in writing non-fictional books, articles, or similar materials, preferably with a focus on education or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of the education system, including issues, trends, and challenges affecting educators and students.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills, with a knack for storytelling and clarity.
• Ability to produce content that is both engaging and informative, aligned with the organisation's mission and goals.
• Familiarity with values-based education and personal development topics is an added advantage.
• Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Access to a computer and stable internet connection.

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in Education, English, Journalism, or related fields is preferred but not mandatory.
