Adexen was mandated by an international company in the manufacturing and distribution of building materials to recruit a Financial Controller for Nigeria. The position is based in Lagos.
Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, accounting records, and reporting
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Ensure proper accounting controls across all departments
Monitor cash flow, expenses, and budget performance
Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions
Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory filings, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulators
Review payroll processing and statutory deductions
Support management with financial analysis, forecasting, and decision-making
Implement and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
Supervise and review the work of the accounts team
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
A Professional qualification (ICAN or ACCA) is required
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a trading or FMCG environment
Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and tax compliance
Experience working with inventory, cost control, and warehouse-related accounting
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines effectively
