    Finance Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the organization’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, budget management, and full compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements.
    • The role requires a highly detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills, financial discipline, and the ability to support management with sound financial insights.

    Key Responsibilities
    Financial Management & Reporting:

    • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements.
    • Monitor daily financial transactions, including income, expenses, and cash flow.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
    • Ensure timely bank reconciliations and resolution of discrepancies.

    Budgeting & Cost Control:

    • Support budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis.
    • Track expenditure against approved budgets and flag variances promptly.
    • Implement cost-control measures to improve financial efficiency.

    Accounting & Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and financial regulations.
    • Manage statutory deductions and remittances including PAYE, pension, VAT, and WHT.
    • Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation.
    • Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.

    Payroll & Vendor Management:

    • Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
    • Manage vendor payments, invoices, and reconciliations.
    • Ensure proper approval and documentation for all disbursements.

    Internal Controls & Process Improvement:

    • Enforce internal financial controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Identify gaps in financial processes and recommend improvements.
    • Support management with financial analysis and decision-making insights.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with 3–5 years relevant experience in a finance or accounting role with 3-6 years experience
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and compliance.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
    • Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
