    Finance Lead

    Description

    • The Finance Lead is responsible for the development of a robust financial strategy and metrics that track the achievement of the overall corporate goals.
    • You will build a high performing team to handle the accounting & finance function of the business as it scales.
    • As lead for the Finance team, the role requires that you continuously monitor and develop control systems designed to produce accurate financial results and preserve the organization’s assets.
    • Working with company shareholders and the founders, the Finance lead will be responsible for all financial reporting and the implementation of financial processes and controls.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Preparing financial forecasts to facilitate financial and business planning
    • Oversight of the finance function including planning, reporting, and accounting
    • Managing company strategy through financial and data led decision making
    • Managing the day-to-day accounting function as we scale including preparation and analysis of monthly accounting entries, management accounts and financial information including commentary
    • Managing budgeting and forecasting for annual financial and business planning within the business unit
    • Recommending parameters and assumptions for budget forecasting in accordance with organizational needs and market conditions
    • Applying financial ratio analyses to support organizations’ decision-making.
    • Drawing valid and in-depth conclusions about the organization’s financial performance and financial adaptability
    • Identifying trends by comparing ratios across multiple time period and statement types
    • Preparing and interpret performance and position of an organization using financial statements
    • Providing up-to-date information on relevant laws and regulations on taxation across various tax types (VAT, WHT, levies, etc.)
    • Preparing relevant financial reports for taxation purpose.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 7 years post-qualification experience, 3 of which must have been spent in a Manageria/Leadldership role
    • Relevant professional certifications e.g. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of Certified and Chartered Accountants (ACCA) or its equivalent is required
    • Experience building out strong financial analyses that drive product and business
    • Excellent skills in communication, interpersonal relationships, thought leadership and team management
    • Attention to detail.
