Factory Operation Manager at H & Y Furniture Manufacturers

Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Budgets:

• Initiate and propose strategic plan for factory operations in the Company, define critical success factors, and ensure achievement of vision/targets after Board approval by setting and maintaining correct organizational focus.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with overall business objectives.
• Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity, standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
• Translate broad objectives to specific goals for various functional units, resulting in effective and efficient implementation plans for factory operations.
• Ensure preparation of Operations Budget in line with developmental goals to maintain consistency in profitability and growth for the Company.
• Implement and maintain factory operations strategies to deliver customer service objectives, working functionally with Project Management/Commercial.
• Drive initiatives to optimize production processes, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Provide strong leadership to the operations team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
• Mentor and develop team members to enhance skills and performance.

Production Planning and Scheduling:

• Oversee production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand and inventory targets.
• Optimize resource utilization and production schedules for efficiency.

Quality Control and Assurance:

• Implement and enforce robust quality control measures to ensure products meet or exceed quality standards.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to address and resolve quality issues.

Health and Safety Compliance:

• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
• Implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Resource Management:

• Optimize the use of labor, machinery, and materials to achieve production goals.
• Monitor and manage operational costs within budget constraints.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives:

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Implement best practices and lean manufacturing principles.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement, logistics, and engineering, to ensure seamless operations.
• Communicate operational updates and requirements to relevant stakeholders.

Budget Management:

• Assist in developing and managing the operations budget.
• Monitor expenditures and implement cost-saving measures as necessary.

Technology Integration:

• Identify and integrate technological advancements to improve manufacturing processes.
• Explore opportunities for automation and digitalization in plant operations.

Customer Focus:

• Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to understand customer requirements and ensure on-time delivery of quality products.

Project Management:

• Lead and oversee key operational projects, ensuring successful implementation and achievement of project goals.
