Factory Mechanical Technician at PZ Cussons

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To receive, manage and account for all parts and contract jobs.
• Attend to all mechanical issues in the factory.
• Generate weekend job for mechanical maintenance.
• Generate weekly maintenance
• Raise and follow-up all expenditure forms
• Participation in Management Systems subscribed to by the department (ISO45001, OHS, ISO14001, EMS, ISO50001, EnMS).
• Ensure good quality parts and jobs are delivered.
• Ensure 90% of all weekend maintenance jobs are implemented
• Ensure full Implementation of maintenance checklist weekly.
• Use of walk around to ensure lines stability.
• Ensure that all expenditure raised are follow- up
• Ensure permit-to-work is raised are for all non-routine jobs.
• Ensure that spare parts audit is conducted Monthly.
• Report all issues related to ISO 14000 and full implementation of  90% action generated.
• Rectification of faults on site mechanical equipment to improve equipment availability and reduce downtime.
• Up to date stock level of consumables and critical spares.
• Zero LTI must be maintained in the plant, and bi-weekly pep talk attendance.
• Ensure equipment availability, and delivery parameters as required, to maintain good product quality in the factories. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• ND/HND/BSc. Mechanical Engineering & all Engineering related courses
• Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in related field.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Very good computer skills (especially Excel, word, power-point, and access packages)
• Strong communication skills.
• Very good in handling numbers/figures.
• Ability to spot improvement opportunities fast.
• Good time management skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
