Epidemiologist - Pathways to Malaria Pre-Elimination Project
The Epidemiologist will provide critical expertise in tracking malaria trends and designing interventions to reduce transmission rates.
All works will be seconded to the Lagos State, Ministry of Health.
This role is based in Lagos, Nigeria, and is eligible to Nigerian country nationals only.
The successful candidate will report to Maisha Meds' Senior Director of Scale Programs and work closely with other project teams to ensure project sustainability.
This is a fixed-term contract that starts in March 2025 and ends on Dec 31, 2025. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Conduct Epidemiological Studies to assess malaria incidence, prevalence, and risk factors.
Analyze Surveillance Data to identify hotspots and emerging trends.
Develop Public Health Strategies to strengthen malaria control measures.
Train Healthcare Workers on disease surveillance methodologies and best practices.
Collaborate with Public and Private Sector Stakeholders to enhance malaria tracking and reporting mechanisms.
Qualifications
Master’s in Epidemiology or Public Health (PhD preferred).
5+ years of experience in infectious disease epidemiology.
Proficient in epidemiological data analysis tools (SAS, R, Stata, or SPSS).
Demonstrated expertise in malaria transmission patterns and surveillance frameworks.
