    Electricity Distribution– Strategic Audits

    Job Overview:

    • A post-acquisition audit of an electric distribution company involves reviewing and evaluating the financial, operational, and strategic aspects of the company after it has been acquired by another entity.
    • Overall, the post-acquisition strategic audit helps the acquiring company tevaluate the performance and potential of the acquired company, identify any issues or risks, and develop strategies tmaximize the value of the acquisition. It alsassists in identifying integration challenges and opportunities for synergy, ensuring a smooth transition, and realizing the expected benefits of the acquisition.

    Job Summary:

    • This involves assessing the alignment of the acquired company's strategic objectives with those of the acquiring company. It includes analyzing the company's market position, competitive landscape, growth potential, customer base, and product or service offerings. The audit aims tidentify any strategic gaps or opportunities for synergy between the acquiring and acquired companies. 
    • Plan, control and record the audit work appropriately tdetermine the priorities, establish and achieve objectives
    • Test operating effectiveness of processes, policies, codes put in place and
    • evaluate the organization’s internal control system as a basis for reporting its adequacy and effectiveness
    • Ensure the timely availability of approved audit strategies and operating plans that reflect the longer-term corporate goals and priorities established by the Board of Directors
    • Reviewing strategy and plans and ensuring the timely availability of reports justifying current plans, policies, procedures, practices and proposed changes in operational practices and ensuring their compatibility with Board strategy and goals.
    • Ensure timely initiation and completion of Annual Audit Plan.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
    • Ensure the availability of up-to-date audit standards, covering all aspects (including hierarchy of key ratios; codes of conduct and discipline; quality standards, codes and practices).
    • Establish audit program, schedules and procedures.
    • Develop the audit policies & procedures & manuals.
    • Conduct special investigations.
    • Ensure compliance with all technical, safety, environmental specifications and standards.
    • Report findings, conclusions and recommendations arising out of audit and ensure it is communicated effectively
    • Provide the board with an assessment of primary risks in the functioning of compliance with technical standards and specifications and initiate action tcorrect non- compliance
    • Ensure that adequate procedures exist for a speedy investigation of major incidents occurring on the system.
    • Ensure that investigations intmajor incidents are conducted thoroughly and that they conclude with an acceptable report explaining the true causes and associated responsibilities and making recommendations tprevent recurrence.

    Requirements:

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master degrees or certifications are a plus.
    • Experience: a. previous experience minimum of 15 years’ experience in electrical engineering. b. Experience in construction project management, electrical system design, and infrastructure audits is highly valued.
    • Knowledge: a. Proficiency in relevant electrical engineering codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC, IOC, NOC). b. Familiarity with refinery processes and equipment is beneficial.
    • Skills: a. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. b. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities twork effectively with multidisciplinary teams. c. Attention tdetail and a strong commitment tsafety and compliance.
    • Certifications: QMS, PMP, NSE and COREN are mandatory.
