    Education Officer

    Purpose of the Position

    • The Education Officer will support the implementation, monitoring, and quality assurance of VISTA Initiative education programs across multiple field locations.
    • The role ensures high-quality, inclusive, and innovative learning interventions while promoting digital and blended learning tools, supporting livelihoods-linked education, and contributing to proposal development, donor engagement, and advocacy for funding and partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities
    Program Implementation:

    • Support delivery of education interventions, including TaRL, RANA/KARI, ABEP, NFE, and blended learning programs.
    • Facilitate learner-centered, safe, inclusive, and gender-responsive educational activities.
    • Promote girl-child education and inclusion of children with disabilities.
    • Support establishment and monitoring of Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS), ABEP centers, and digital learning hubs.
    • Integrate livelihood linkages into education programming where relevant, including skills-building and vocational training support.

    Digital and Innovative Learning:

    • Assist in integrating Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP), blended learning, and AI-supported tools into programs.
    • Support digital literacy development for teachers, facilitators, and learners.
    • Contribute to adaptive, data-driven learning interventions.

    Proposal Writing, Donor Engagement, and Advocacy:

    • Provide technical inputs for proposals, concept notes, and donor submissions.
    • Assist in drafting program descriptions, outcomes, and implementation plans for funding applications.
    • Support advocacy for funding and partnership opportunities with donors, UN Agencies, INGOs, NNGOs, Philanthropies, and government agencies.

    Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Conduct field monitoring and support collection of programs and learning data.
    • Assist with TaRL and RANA/KARI assessments and reporting.
    • Document lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.

    Capacity Building and Community Engagement:

    • Support training of teachers, facilitators, and community volunteers on inclusive teaching, blended learning, safeguarding, child protection, and livelihood integration.
    • Assist community mobilization to increase enrollment, retention, and participation.
    • Support community education committees and learner support structures.

    Coordination and Compliance:

    • Support coordination with government agencies, SUBEBs, UNICEF, INGOs, CSOs, and community stakeholders.
    • Ensure adherence to child safeguarding, PSEA, and code of conduct policies.
    • Identify risks in education programming and propose mitigation measures.

    Key Deliverables

    • Effective implementation of education programs across assigned locations.
    • Improved learning outcomes through TaRL, RANA/KARI, blended learning, AI-assisted, and livelihoods-linked interventions.
    • Contribution to funding proposals, concept notes, and donor engagement initiatives.
    • Timely and accurate data collection, reporting, and program documentation.
    • Strengthened community engagement, capacity-building outcomes, and inclusion of girls and children with disabilities.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, or related field (Master’s preferred).
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in education program implementation, preferably in humanitarian or fragile contexts.
    • Experience with TaRL, ABEP, RANA/KARI, NFE, or remedial education programs.
    • Familiarity with Nigeria Learning Passport, blended learning, AI-supported education tools, and livelihoods integration is an advantage.
    • Experience in proposal development, donor engagement, advocacy, and field-based program monitoring.

    Core Competencies and Skills:

    • Knowledge of Education in Emergencies (EiE), inclusive education principles, and livelihoods linkages.
    • Strong coordination, facilitation, communication, and proposal-writing skills.
    • Proficient in MS Office and digital learning platforms.
    • Ability to travel extensively and work in field-based, often insecure environments.
    • Fluency in English; knowledge of Kanuri, Hausa, or Fulani is an advantage.
