Distribution Substation Operator –Ogun at Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) Plc

Job Description

This job role involves operating all distribution substation switch gears and monitoring the operation of the power transformer while ensuring the safety of personnel and equipment.  

Job Requirements

1. OND Electrical/Mechanical
2. Professional Qualification: NABTEB certificate, NAPTIN, TRADE TEST 1-3 is an added advantage
3. A relevant professional certification or Diploma qualification in Engineering is desired.
4. 0-3 years’ Experience.

Job Responsibility

1. Perform switching operations by standard operating procedures.  
2. Receives, records instructions, and reports all operational activities to the dispatch office.
3. Issue of Protection Guarantee in line with safety procedures and IBEDC standard guidelines.  
4. Records hourly load and other integrated meter readings.
5. Inspects and monitors Substation equipment.
6. Records and documents all HV faults and other reports to the Business Hub Dispatch Office.
7. Maintains a log of all operations, both routine and emergency. Carry out other sundry assignments as directed by the Business Hub Dispatch.
