The dispatch coordinator is responsible for scheduling and dispatching drivers, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or needs.
This role ensures that all transport operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and schedule the dispatch of drivers, vehicles, and shipments.
Monitor and track deliveries to ensure timely and accurate performance.
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and delivery confirmations.
Resolve delivery and service-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company procedures.
Optimize routing and scheduling to reduce operational costs.
Report and coordinate vehicle maintenance or breakdown issues.
Use dispatch software and GPS tracking systems for real-time fleet management.
Generate and submit daily reports on dispatch operations and performance metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
3 years of experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation coordination.
Experience with dispatch or transportation management software is preferred.
