Debt Recovery Officer at VDT Communications Ltd

Salary: ₦150,000-200,000 net

Benefits: Subsidy allowance, 13th month etc.

Job Summary:

We are looking for outstanding Debt Recovery Officer Officer to assist in managing and recovering outstanding debts from customers or clients. The role requires a proactive and methodical approach to ensure timely and efficient recovery of overdue payments.

Key Deliverables

• Monitor and review accounts to identify overdue payments
• Initiate debt recovery procedures and apply legal regulations where necessary 
• Actively pursue overdue payments from customers, clients, or businesses using various communication channels such as phone calls, emails, and letters.
• Engage with debtors to negotiate payment terms that are mutually beneficial and ensure prompt recovery of funds
• Propose payment arrangements, such as installment plans, that align with company policies and customer circumstances
• Prepare regular reports on recovery performance, including debt aging reports and recovery progress
• Monitor and meet individual and team collection targets, ensuring timely recovery of debts
• Update and manage the debtors’ database to track the progress of each account 
• Maintain accurate and up to-date records of all communication and transactions with debtors. 
• Ensure all documentation, such as payment agreements and communication logs, are filed properly 

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, or a similar field.
• Previous experience working as a Debt Recovery Officer.
• Ability to identify problems and propose appropriate solutions to ensure prompt debt recovery.
• Excellent negotiating skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of office and accounting software i.e Sage
