    Credit Analyst

    Job summary

    The Credit Analyst will perform credit risk assessment and credit analysis on current and potential loan customers, to determine their eligibility for loans in line with the credit guidelines and policies of the bank

    Job responsibilities

    • Analyze and appraise credit applications in compliance with set criteria and policy.
    • Adhere to the set tun around time for credit analysis
    • Ensure fulfilment of pre and post disbursement conditions.
    • Ensure adherence to regulatory provisions during credit appraisals and approvals
    • Conduct customer and guarantor interviews when necessary
    • Verify the authenticity of supporting documents and information accompanying credit requests
    • Routinely monitor loans for compliance with repayment terms
    • Conducts on-site inspection and monitoring of customer’s businesses and collaterals when necessary
    • Evaluate restructuring requests and conducts pre-liminary analysis to support or deny requests
    • Provide periodic report on portfolio performance
    • Provide recommendations for process, policy and product improvement
    • Liaise with the remedial team on recovery strategies for delinquent and default accounts
    • Formulate and implement appropriate strategies to maximize recovery of non-performing accounts and minimize credit loss

    Qualifications

    • OND/HND/BSc/ in accounting, finance, statistics or any related field
    • Evidence of completion/ exemption of/from NYSC
    • Minimum of 3 years cognate experience

    Experience

    • Demonstrated experience as a credit analyst in a financial institution.

    Skills

    • Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workflow under strict deadlines
    • Highly organized, detail oriented, with solid verbal and written communications skills
    • Persistence, flexibility and a high service orientation, as well as a reputation for dependability, professionalism and a commitment to team work
    • Proficient in the use of MS Office suit
    • Ability to multi task
