    Corporate and Technical Planning

    Job Purpose:

    • The Technical Planning Manager is responsible for building the long-term strategic pathway for the business in line with overall group strategic outlook i.e leading the technical planning function and ensuring the efficient and effective planning, scheduling, and execution of operational and maintenance activities.
    • This role plays a critical part in optimizing asset performance, minimizing downtime, and ensuring compliance with safety and industry standards.
    • The role frames the drivers for the integrated delivery of business outcomes, identifies and monitors key business outcomes, identifies and monitors key performance indicators, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to deliver top quartile short, medium and longterm business performance for the group.

    Summary:

    • Deliver the annual business plan for the group.
    • Responsible for providing management information, analysis, and key assumptions to support the optimization of plans working closely with Technical and Non-Technical functions to deliver a credible business plan.
    • Deliver the quarterly Medium Term Integrated Activity Plan highlighting activity readiness to deliver set target with a 1 yr/3yrs/5yrs horizon.
    • Deliver the monthly Short Term Integrated Activity Plan to drive on site delivery with the plan covering a 90-day horizon.
    • Monitor and report performance via the monthly and quarterly performance reporting cycle.
    • Provide a clear dictionary of performance impact via the quarterly latest estimate reports.
    • Deliver Integrated risk management view of desired business outcomes.
    • Drive Integration across all functions to deliver short, medium, and long-term targets.
    • Contribute to the Integration of the annual Work Programme and Budget ensuring availability of funds for work execution.

    Planning and Scheduling

    • Develop and maintain detailed plans and schedules for operations, maintenance, and project activities.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (e.g., operations, engineering, procurement) to align schedules with production goals.
    • Implement planning methodologies and tools to improve project delivery and operational efficiency.

    Technical Coordination

    • Analyze technical data and operational requirements to support decision-making processes.
    • Ensure the integration of engineering designs, modifications, and maintenance activities into operational plans.
    • Provide technical expertise and support during project planning and execution phases.

    Resource Management

    • Assess resource requirements, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet project
    • timelines.
    • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of resources.
    • Optimize resource allocation to achieve cost-effective operations.
    • Performance Monitoring
    • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to operational and project
    • performance.
    • Identify and address variances between planned and actual performance.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports to management, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions.

    Compliance and Risk Management

    • Ensure that all technical planning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and industry standards.
    • Identify potential risks in project execution and develop mitigation plans.
    • Promote a safety-first culture across all planning and operational activities.

    Team Leadership

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of planners and schedulers to achieve departmental objectives.
    • Foster collaboration and communication within the team and across departments
    • Conduct performance evaluations and implement training programs to enhance team capabilities.

    Continuous Improvement

    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in technical planning and execution.
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and technologies to ensure continuous improvement.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Petroleum, or related field) or a related technical discipline.
    • A Master’s degree in Engineering Management or Project Management is a plus.

    SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Minimum of 13years’ of experience in technical planning, operations, or maintenance roles within the oil and gas industry.
    • Proven experience in project management, scheduling, and resource planning.
    • Experience with planning software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools.

    Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of oil and gas operations, maintenance processes, and industry standards.
    • Proficiency in planning and scheduling tools and methodologies.
    • Ability to analyze complex data and develop actionable plans.
    • Familiarity with HSE regulations and risk management practices in the oil and gas sector.

    Soft Skills:

    • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
    • Problem-solving and decision-making skills under tight deadlines.
    • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
