Consultant on Learning Exchange for Community Led / Based Organisations at Network of People Living with HIV and AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN)

Background

• The RSSH 2024 – 2026 grant is designed to contribute to make foundational changes by strengthening the health systems in Nigeria through targeted interventions that support the federal government to set policies, strategies and standards as well as plan, monitor, and review progress against those standards; governance and planning reforms that align with national policies, standards, and strategies to drive sustainable improvements to maximize impact on AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria ATM and other diseases.
• The Community Systems Strengthening of the RSSH grant is geared towards four priority interventions: (i) community-based monitoring, (ii) community-led advocacy and research, (iii) social mobilization, building community linkages and coordination and (iv) Institutional capacity building, planning and leadership development. Gaps that are identified through the monitoring activities will be noted, prioritized and remediation sought through advocacy to decision-makers at the government and community levels. This will lead to more effective service delivery, improved accessibility, affordability and investments by communities and governments at local and state levels for health and particularly ATM.
• The ATM networks (NEPWHAN, TBN and ACOMIN) are Technical Service Organisations working on the RSSH grant, with NTBLCP as the Principal Recipient. The ATM networks implement a wide array of activities with each network assigned to lead designated set of activities. It is on this note that NEPWHAN is leading the activity on the learning exchange for community led/based organizations.
• Dissemination of success stories and experience sharing is key to scaling up innovations and interventions towards addressing the burden of TB, HIV and Malaria in the country. The program with this grant is organizing a two-day non-residential learning exchange meeting.
• This will be a hybrid meeting with 62 participants, 37 of whom will be online participants and 25 will participate physically. The 37 online participants will come from the 36 + 1 states, while the 25 physical participants will include 7 persons per network with 1 consultant & 3 partners. A consultant will be engaged for 10 days, the consultant will help collate, finalize the success stories which will be shared during and after the meeting.
• In order to achieve the aim of this intervention, a request for submission of success stories and lessons learnt will be sent out to members of the network, this will be collated and reviewed by the consultant who will select quality success stories and interventions that could be scaled up, this will be presented during the one-day learning exchange meeting by the respective members of the network who implemented the interventions. The online participants will be supported with data cost.
• It is against this background that NEPWHAN is seeking for a credible candidate for this role.

Key deliverables at the end of the meeting will include:

• Aninception report detailing entry interaction with the ATM networks and understanding of expected role;
• Training agenda;
• Training slides from any nationally/internationally recognized curriculum;
• Fine-tune and share a minimum of 2 quality success stories per state and a minimum of 42 quality success stories for the 21 C19RM implementing states; and
• Submit a comprehensive training report of the consultancy.

Scope of Work of the Consultant
The Consultant will be directly supervised by the Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS in Nigeria (NEPWHAN) working with other ATM Networks (ACOMIN and TB Network) to strengthen the ATM Networks on reporting quality success stories. This entails the following:

• Conduct an entry/interaction meeting with the ATM Networks to understand the concept of the project and modalities for engaging with the ATM networks to achieve the task.
• Review success stories which will be shared by the ATM Networks
• Prepare meeting agenda
• Develop meeting slides
• Facilitate the 2 days non-residential meeting.
• Collate, finalize and share the success stories during the meeting.
• Develop a detailed report of the meeting.
• Develop comprehensive reports of the consultancy role.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Master’s degree or MBA in relevant fields (Communications, Journalism, Marketing). Bachelor’s degree in arelevant field can be considered.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in similar role, content creation, consulting or related field.
• Experience in content creation, or publishing.
• Familiarity with case study development and documentation.
• Previous experience working in the non-health sector/community interventions.
• Demonstrate ability to identify and highlight and showcase key achievements.
• Excellent writing and storytelling abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Attention to details and accuracy.
• Good time management and organization.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Methodology
The component of the 2 days meeting will employ a combination of power point presentations, case studies, and group discussions as follows.

• Power point: Expert-led sessions on documenting quality success stories
• Case Studies: Compile and share quality success stories
• Group Discussions: Facilitated discussions to encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration
