    Construction Manager

    About Our Client:

    Our client is a prominent real estate development company based in Lagos, Nigeria, specializing in luxury residential and commercial properties. With a focus on innovative design and sustainable building practices, the company has been enhancing cityscapes across Nigeria since 2007.

    Role Summary:

    As a Construction Manager at our client's company, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from planning to completion. You will play a key role in coordinating project teams, managing budgets and schedules, and ensuring that construction projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, coordinate, and manage construction projects from conception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and project tracking.
    • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to develop project plans, specifications, and schedules, and ensure that construction activities are carried out according to design drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
    • Manage project budgets, expenses, and cash flow, and monitor project costs, expenditures, and financial performance to ensure that projects are completed within budget and profitability targets.
    • Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for construction projects, and negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and terms.
    • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction projects, and ensure compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations and practices on construction sites, and implement measures to prevent accidents, injuries, and hazards.
    • Communicate regularly with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to provide updates on project progress, address issues and concerns, and ensure that project goals and objectives are met.
    • Manage project documentation, records, and reporting, and prepare progress reports, financial statements, and other project documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Conduct site inspections, audits, and quality control checks to ensure that construction work meets quality standards, specifications, and contractual requirements.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully managing and delivering construction projects, preferably in real estate development or construction firm.
    • Strong understanding of construction principles, practices, and processes, including project management, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
    • Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar tools.
    • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate project teams, resolve conflicts, and drive results and accountability.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, building codes, and construction standards.
