    Collections Officer

    Role Summary:

    • The Collections Manager is responsible for managing and recovering overdue accounts, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining a healthy loan portfolio.
    • The role requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, adherence to regulatory and organizational policies, and a customer-centric approach to debt recovery.

    Key Responsibilities

    Debt Recovery

    • Contact customers with overdue accounts to remind them of payment obligations and negotiate repayment plans.
    • Follow up on overdue payments through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits as required.
    • Resolve account discrepancies and disputes to facilitate payments.
    • Escalate unresolved cases to the legal team as necessary.

    Portfolio Management

    • Monitor assigned accounts to identify overdue payments and prioritize recovery efforts.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of collections activities and customer interactions.
    • Collaborate with other departments to address customer-related issues, including account errors or service complaints.

    Compliance

    • Ensure all collections activities comply with internal policies, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards.
    • Adhere to data privacy laws and maintain confidentiality in handling customer information.
    • Prepare and submit reports on collection activities and recovery progress to Management.

    Customer Relationship Management

    • Engage professionally and empathetically with customers to maintain positive relationships while pursuing recovery.
    • Provide advice and support to customers facing financial difficulties, including offering restructuring options where applicable.
