    Chief Operating Officer (COO)

    Reports To:               Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Drive the company’s operational capabilities by overseeing general operations and the work of other executives
    • Assess, recommend and implement improved processes while collaborating with management on the implementation.
    • Translate strategy into actionable goals for effective performance and growth
    • Implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning.
    • Responsible for planning and implementing operational strategies, plans and procedures
    • Responsible for ensuring adequate operational control of all strategic business units (SBU)
    • Identify and propose new opportunities and markets to the CEO
    • Develop and implement a growth-focused strategy to increase the company’s investment
    • Drive the financial performance of the Company.
    • Implementation of relevant structures (process, people, and systems) to support the achievement of the company's vision, goals and promote investment opportunities for profitable growth.
    • Steering and managing complex and high value projects from end to end.
    • Coordinate the entire operations of the shipping, commodity trading as well as supply chain and logistics divisions of the company
    • Oversee the long-term vision and growth strategies of the company
    • Provide operational leadership and effective management to ensure accurate operational controls, measurement and reporting systems are sustained.

    Skills and Job Requirements

    • Accomplished professional with minimum of twenty (20) years’ experience, gained from shipping, commodity trading or supply chain and logistics industry, with at least 7 years at Senior Management level
    • University Degree in Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, Business Administration or Management or any other relevant field.
    • Master of Business Administration (MBA) or any other relevant Master’s Degree is essential
    • Organizational development and strategic planning skills
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and deliver through others
    • Good networking and strong communication skills
    • Ability and willingness to travel as deem necessary (traveling up to 10%)
    • Ability to drive organizational changes
    • Ability to lead high-performing professionals
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with dynamic business priorities.
    • Expertise in Microsoft office suites.
