Oversee the inspection, servicing, and repair of rig mechanical systems including engines, pumps, compressors, mud systems, rotary tables, top drives, draw works, and HVAC.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all mechanical equipment.
Supervise and coordinate activities of rig mechanics and technical crew.
Assign maintenance tasks, monitor performance, and ensure proper execution of mechanical operations.
Ensure all mechanical work complies with company HSE policies, regulatory standards, and OEM specifications.
Conduct and participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and toolbox talks.
Monitor and manage inventory levels of critical spare parts and mechanical tools.
Raise requisitions for spare parts in a timely manner to avoid operational disruptions.
Requirements:
Technical Diploma or Certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 12 years’ experience in rig mechanical maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of drilling rig components and diesel-powered mechanical systems.
Familiarity with OEM standards for Caterpillar engines, National Oilwell Varco (NOV) equipment, and similar systems.
Offshore survival and safety certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET) for offshore roles
