    Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

    The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) shall provide strategic financial leadership and oversight for MECA\'s operations, investments, and business growth initiatives. The role is responsible for financial planning, treasury management, budgeting, financial reporting, risk management, investment analysis, regulatory compliance, and the development of strong financial systems to support the Company’s industrial and commercial objectives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the Company’s financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives and growth plans. 
    • Provide strategic financial guidance to executive management and the Board on business performance, investments, and financial risks. 
    • Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans. 
    • Oversee treasury operations, cash flow management, working capital, and liquidity planning. 
    • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management accounts, and statutory reports. 
    • Establish and maintain strong internal controls, financial governance frameworks, and compliance systems. 
    • Manage relationships with banks, investors, auditors, regulatory agencies, and financial institutions. 
    • Lead financial analysis and evaluation of projects, investments, and expansion initiatives. 
    • Oversee tax planning, statutory compliance, and regulatory reporting obligations. 
    • Monitor financial performance and recommend strategies for cost optimization and operational efficiency. 
    • Coordinate financial due diligence, audits, and external financial reviews. 
    • Develop and implement financial risk management strategies and business continuity measures. 
    • Supervise procurement finance, capital expenditure monitoring, and project financial controls. 
    • Support fundraising initiatives, investment structuring, and strategic partnerships. 
    • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, financial regulations, and corporate governance requirements. 
    • Lead and mentor the finance and accounts team to ensure high performance and professional development. 
    • Drive automation and improvement of financial systems, reporting processes, and data management. 
    • Prepare and present financial reports to executive management, shareholders, investors, and regulatory authorities. 

    Requirements

    • Strong financial leadership, strategic planning, and business management skills. 
    • Excellent knowledge of corporate finance, financial reporting, budgeting, and treasury management. 
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. 
    • Sound understanding of financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management. 
    • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills. 
    • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. 
    • Proficiency in financial management systems, ERP platforms, and accounting software. 
    • Strong understanding of investment analysis, project finance, and financial modeling. 
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial and commercial environment. 

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related discipline. 
    • MBA, MSc Finance, is an added advantage. 
    • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent is required. 
    • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive financial management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. 
    • Experience in manufacturing, agro-processing, industrial operations, infrastructure, FMCG, or large-scale commercial operations is highly desirable. 
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, taxation, and corporate governance practices is required. 
    • Experience in project finance, investment management, fundraising, or development finance is an added advantage.
