    Category Manager (Food)

    Job Summary

    • Are you a commercially driven retail professional with a passion for building winning product categories? We're looking for an experienced Category Manager (Food) to drive category growth, strengthen supplier partnerships, and maximise sales and profitability across our food portfolio.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute category strategies to drive sales, market share, and profitability.
    • Manage product assortment, pricing, promotions, and category performance.
    • Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, rebates, and promotional support with suppliers.
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer insights to identify growth opportunities.
    • Plan product launches, promotional campaigns, and category development initiatives.
    • Manage inventory levels, replenishment, and product availability across stores.
    • Coordinate with supply chain and warehouse teams to ensure efficient product flow.
    • Track vendor performance, profitability, contracts, and payment status.
    • Work closely with Marketing, Commercial, and Operations teams to achieve business objectives.
    • Analyse category performance and provide recommendations to improve sales and margins.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
    • 3–5 years' experience in Category Management, Buying, or Merchandising within the retail or FMCG industry.
    • Strong experience managing food categories (grocery, beverages, dairy, frozen foods, fresh produce, etc.).
    • Proven negotiation and supplier management skills.
    • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
    • Commercial mindset with excellent planning and execution abilities.
