    Call for Expression of Interest

    Summary
    This call for Expression of Interest is to identify eligible groups/organizations with the requisite local experience for prospective partnership with Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA) in strengthening social mobilization and accountability towards ending SGBV and violence against women and girls (VAWG) in Borno, Adamawa & Yobe communities.

    Description
    Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA) invites small, local, and grassroots women-led or women's rights organizations/groups/networks working on GBV in Borno, Adamawa and Yobe state to submit Expression of Interest for programmatic engagement at community level in 6 LGAs including MMC and Konduga (in Borno), Yola North and Numan (in Adamawa), and Damaturu and Potiskum (in Yobe).
    The purpose of the Call for Expression of Interest is to identify eligible groups/organizations with the requisite local experience and knowledge for prospective partnership with GRA in strengthening social mobilization and accountability towards ending sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and violence against women and girls (VAWG) in the target communities.

    GRA will use transparent targeted sub-granting to engage local partners (including those who have traditionally not accessed such support by supporting them and strengthening their capacity) for coordinated and participatory project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

    Introduction
    Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA)is a non-profit rights-based organization committed to ending sexual and gender-based violence in North-eastern Nigeria and assisting victims of SGBV in accessing services, maintaining a decent standard of living, acquiring appropriate knowledge and skills, enjoying the fullest possible extent of human rights, and leading a long and healthy life. GRA provides evidence-based grassroots interventions towards promoting social accountability, community-based prevention, and response towards ending SGBV and VAWG.

    About the Project
    As part of its commitments towards empowering local actors in ending SGBV and VAWG, Grassroots Researchers Association (GRA) in partnership with the Dr. Denis Mukwege Foundation and with technical support from UN Women Nigeria is strengthening women-led and women’s rights networks and groups on social accountability mechanisms and tools to more effectively mobilize to end SGBV and VAWG in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe communities.

    The project is being funded under the Women’s Peace and Humanitarian Fund (WPHF) / EU-UN Spotlight Initiative and aims towards:
    Supporting women's rights groups and relevant civil society organizations to more effectively use social accountability mechanisms to support their advocacy and influence in preventing and responding to VAWG, including SGBV/Harmful Practices (HP), and Gender Equality and Women Empowerment (GEWE)

    Strengthening and empowering women's rights groups and relevant civil society organizations representing groups facing intersecting forms of discrimination/marginalization to design, implement and monitor programmes and policies on VAWG, including SGBV/HP, and promote women’s and girls’ Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR); and

    Promoting advocacy for GEWE and ending VAWG, including SGBV/HP.
