Requirements
We are looking for someone who has a keen interest in business and has some experience in professional journalism.
The ideal candidate has a clear understanding of how to research, pitch, and produce well-researched articles aligned with globally relevant.
There will be a need to be able to write for a variety of different formats, such as blogs, social media posts, and video content.
Education
bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English or another related field. Some of the coursework that these programs include is writing, research, ethics, media law and ethics, and broadcast journalism.

Responsibilities:
Collect and edit articles for the newsletter; and write articles as needed.
Reporting on industry trends, including new technologies or products that may disrupt established markets
Writing articles that explain complex concepts in simple terms for general audiences
Reporting on issues related to small business, including how to start a business, financing options, and government regulations
Reporting on industry trends, including new technologies or products that may disrupt established markets
Advanced writing skills and story-telling ability that lead to a conversational daily product
Energy and creativity, with a passion for understanding issues facing the city of Toronto issues
A self-starter who is flexible and able to generate quality story ideas
Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks
Relentlessly high standards; detail-oriented and deadline-driven that enables the production of succinct, clear, and accurate copy on deadline
Interview and news gathering skills and instincts to draw out subjects and gather the relevant information to bring a story to life
Write blog posts and marketing copy to promote products and services
Proofread, re-structure and edit articles by content writers
Update our website and social media pages with new content
Craft and send out multiple days newsletters
Interview industry professionals and use online sources to research topics
Optimise published pieces using SEO guidelines
Manage the editorial calendar and ensure timely publication
Generate new ideas around industry-related topics
Monitor web traffic and user engagement (e.g. bounce rates)
